Unconditional Election:
God's choice of certain individuals to salvation before the foundation of the world rested solely in His own sovereign will. His choice of particular sinners was not based on any foreseen response or obedience on their part, such as faith, repentance, etc. On the contrary, God gives faith and repentance to each individual whom He selected. These acts are the results, not the cause, of God's choice. Election therefore was not determined by or conditioned on any virtuous quality or act foreseen in man. Those whom God in His sovereignty elected He brings through the power of the Spirit to a willing acceptance of Christ. Thus God's choice of the sinner, not the sinner's choice of Christ, is the ultimate cause of salvation.

무조건적 선택:
어떤 개인을 구원에 이르도록 하는 하나님의 선택은 세상의 기초가 놓아지기 전에 전적으로 하나님의 주권적 의지 안에만 머무른다.  하나님께서 개별 죄인들을 선택하시는 것은 믿음이나 회개 등등과 같은 그들의 부분에서의 어떠한 가능한 반응이나 순종에 근거하는 것이 아니다. 오히려 하나님께서는 믿음과 회개를 하나님께서 선택하신 각 개인에게 주신다. 이러한 행위는 하나님의 선택의 원인이 아니라 결과이다. 그래서, 선택은 사람 속에 미리 보여지는 어떠한 아름다운 덕이나 행위가 조건이 되거나 결정한 것이 아닌 것이다. 하나님께서는 그 분의 주권 안에서 하나님께서 선택한 사람들을 성령님의 권능으로 말미암아 예수 그리스도를 의지적으로 받아들이도록 이끄신다. 그래서, 그리스도를 죄인들이 선택한 것이 아니라, 죄인을 선택하시는 하나님의 선택이 궁극적인 구원의 원인이 되는 것이다.  

Limited Atonement:
Christ's redeeming work was intended to save the elect only and actually secured salvation for them. In addition to putting away the sins of His people, Christ's redemption secured everything necessary for their salvation, including faith, which unites them to Him. The gift of faith is infallibly applied by the Spirit, to all for whom Christ died, therefore, guaranteeing their salvation.

제한속죄:
그리스도의 구속의 사역은 선택받은 자들만을 구원하도록 결정되었고, 실재로 그 선택받은 자들에 대한 구원을 보증했다. 하나님은 백성의 죄악을 멀리 던져버리시는 것에서 나아가, 그리스도의 구속은 백성의 구원을 위한 모든 필요한 것을 보증했다. 여기에는 하나님의 백성을 하나님과 연합하도록하는 믿음이 포함된다. 믿음의 은사는 성령님께서 무오하게 적용하신다. 그래서, 예수님께서 위하여 죽으신 모든 사람들에게 그들의 구원을 보장해준다.

Irresistible Grace:
In addition to the outward general call to salvation, which is made to everyone who hears the Gospel, the Holy Spirit extends to the elect a special inward call that inevitably brings them to salvation. The external call (which is made to all without distinction) can be, and often is, rejected; whereas the internal call (which is made only to the elect) cannot be rejected; it always results in conversion. By means of this special call, the Spirit irresistibly draws sinners to Christ. He is not limited in His work of applying salvation to man's will, nor is He dependent on man's cooperation for success. The Spirit graciously causes the elect sinner to cooperate, to believe, to repent, and to come freely and willingly to Christ. God's grace is, therefore, invincible; it never fails to result in the salvation of those to whom it is extended.

불가항력적 은혜:
복음을 듣는 모든 사람에게 이루어지는 구원에 대한 일반적인 명칭에 덧붙여서, 성령님은 하나님께서 택하신 자들에게 특별한 내적 소명(부르심)을 주신다. 이 내적 소명은 그 택하신 자들을 구원에 반드시 이르도록 인도하는 소명이다.  외적 소명(구별없이 모든 사람에게 주시는)은 종종 거절당할 수 있다; 반면에 내적 소명(택하신 자들에게만 주시는)은 거절당할 수 없다; 이 내적 소명은 항상 회심을 일으킨다. 이러한 특별한 소명으로 통해서, 성령님은 불가항력적으로 죄인들을 그리스도께 인도한다. 성령님은 인간이 인간의 의지로 구원을 받아들이게 하시는데 제한될 것이 없으시다. 또한 성령님은 구원을 받아들이게 하시기 위해 인간의 협조를 의지하지 않으신다. 성령님은 은혜롭게도 그 택하신 죄인이 협조하도록 하는 원인이 되시고, 믿고, 회개하고 자유함과 의지적으로 그리스도께 나아가도록 만드신다. 그러므로, 하나님의 은혜는 결코 넘어갈 수 없는 것이다; 그 은혜는 확장되어 주어지는 모든 사람의 구원을 이루는데 절대로 실패하지 않는 것이다.

Perseverance of the Saints:
All who are chosen by God, redeemed by Christ, and given faith by the Spirit are eternally saved. They are kept in faith by the power of Almighty God and because He preserves, His people persevere to the end.

성도의 견인:
하나님께서 선택하시고 예수님께서 구속하시고 성령님께서 믿음을 주신 모든 사람은 영원히 구원을 받는다. 전능하신 하나님께서 권능으로 그들을 믿음 안에 머물게 해주시고 보존하여 주시기 때문에, 하나님의 백성들은 마지막까지 인내하게 되는 것이다.
